There have been some significant changes since the early 1960’s when Peter and Ann Howell began the business working on farm dams with a Horse and Dray. A few years later Peter purchased his first machine and extended his work area to include rail. Peter recalls that his first rail job coincided with the introduction of decimal currency. This is clear in his mind due to the problems that he and Ann had invoicing their customers in dollars and cents.

By 1982 Tim Howell began working with his father and the company’s first Excavator was used for bridge replacement and rail work. From age 14 Tim was looking for more efficient ways to work and the first modifications to standard equipment were made.
