Howell Contractors is a family owned business that has been in operation for over forty years.
Over this time we have been responsible for the design and development of innovative rail
equipment and specialized tools and attachments such as the octopus, platypus and tamper.
We had an extensive fleet of Hi-rail excavators and specialized rail equipment that assisted
with any job and our highly skilled operators have the experience and knowledge to
efficiently work on all rail maintenance and construction projects.
April 2012 saw major changes to the business with the sale of the hi rail equipment to Howell Rail. Now back to a small faimily company that is working within the local area, providing earthmoving and supply and delivery of gravel products, from our gravel pit in Lamplough.
At Howell Contractors we use our extensive experience in the rail industry to focus
on individual client requirements. We are constantly adapting and redesigning our
equipment to ensure we achieve the best possible outcome for our clients.
